Picture this: it’s the 1940s in Curaçao, and a tenacious pharmacist is on a quest to concoct the perfect after-shave lotion. He dives into a world of experimentation, mixing various oils and ingredients in his pursuit of greatness.

Although he never quite achieves his after-shave dream, he stumbles upon something even more remarkable – a wonder product with incredibly refreshing qualities! This accidental masterpiece would later be known as Alcolado Glacial.

In 1948, our intrepid pharmacist decided to share his secret with the world. He approached Curaçao Laboratories and sold them the secret recipe. And thus, at Landhuis Chobolobo, the legacy of Alcolado Glacial was born!

The name

Once upon a time, our beloved brand went by the name Alcolado Glacial. But, as with all things, change was inevitable, and thus it transformed into the snappier moniker, “Glacial”. Fear not, ye loyal Curacao locals, we know you still call it Alcolado Glacial – and we love you for it!
